Graduating with a PhD in mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 2008, I embarked on an academic career. I have lectured undergraduate and postgraduate courses in several universities in Hong Kong including University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have published papers on mathematics research in leading journals.
But I felt that what I was doing lacked the personal touch - the feeling that I am making a difference. I decided to move into high-school teaching . I worked at NTK Academic Group - the leading education service provider in Hong Kong. I was the head of the Mathematics Department and then, subsequently, the head of the Education Consulting Department.
In the next 6 years, I have taught students from many international schools in Hong Kong both their school curricula and admissions test prep; I have helped students with the university application process, guiding through a crucial part of their education and seeing them reap the rewards of their hard work. On the way, I have had the pleasure working with and learning from many dedicated colleagues and have taught students of all academic abilities who are smart, hard-working, respectful and ambitious.
However, I still thought about frontier mathematics research. In my spare time, I participated in the research group of Prof. Patrick T. W. Ng in the University of Hong Kong. Writing papers with him and his students on important topics. At the same time, I was also invited to give talks at the Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Education - to inspire gifted students with a glimpse of advanced mathematics.
Teaching secondary school students; guiding students through their educational journey; engaging with frontier maths research; inspiring students with maths - all of these are my calling. At the end, all things coalesced and I decided to embark on this venture - to present to students of all backgrounds with the best educational guidance and the Gift of Maths.

Personal Life
I am truly blessed to have my family
- My two sons: the two sunshines of my life
- My wife Connie: a great mother, a great role-model and the glue that holds everything together
- My parents to whom I owe my deepest thanks for always allowing me to follow my dreams
Hobbies:
- Listening to music: I listen to 70s and 80s blues / blues rock, soul and also progressive metal(core).
- Tinkering with audio equipment: words of wisdom - getting shocked by 220V 50Hz is NOT fun.
